1- President Pranab Mukherjee has appointed former IAS officer Om Prakash Rawat as an Election Commissioner (EC) in the Election Commission of India (ECI).

2- The chief of Sabar Dairy, Jethabhai Patel, was re-elected as the Chairman of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), for another three-year term.

3- Pratyaksha Hastaantarit Laabh (PAHAL) scheme enters into Guinness Book of world records.

4 –President Pranab Mukherjee has conferred prestigious literary award Saraswati Sammaan for the year 2014 to Dr. Marpadi Veerappa Moily in New Delhi.

5- Government is planning to give financial incentive of up to 1.5 lakh rupees on surrender of over ten year old vehicles to check pollution and address road safety concerns.

6- Odisha cabinet approved the much awaited Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2015 after several rounds of consultation with different administrative departments and industry associations.

7- US – India Cyber Dialogue was held on 11 and 12 August 2015 at the US Department of State in Washington, DC. The dialogue was held with an aim to increase global cyber security and promote the digital economy.

8 – Micro-blogging platform Twitter has announced that it has increased the Direct Message (DM) limit to 10,000 characters from the existing 140, enabling the users to send longer private messages to friends.

9- Indian Men’s Hockey team won European series against Spain 2-1.

10- Central Government has revised the National Solar Mission target of Grid Connected Solar Power projects from 20,000 MW by 2022 to1,00,000 MW by 2022.
