1. The International Monetary Fund`s historic quota and governance reforms that for the first time place four emerging market countries among its 10 largest members have become effective. In addition to India, other nations included in IMF’s top ten countries are China, Brazil and Russia.

अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (आईएमएफ) में पहली बार भारत सहित चार उभरती अर्थव्यवस्था वाले देशों को 10 सबसे बड़े सदस्य के तौर पर शामिल किया गया है। यह बदलाव ऐतिहासिक कोटा और प्रशासन सुधार को लागू करने के बाद किया गया है। आईएमएफ के प्रमुख 10 देशों में शामिल किए गए चार नामों में भारत के अलावा चीन, ब्राजील और रूस हैं।

3. Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (I/C) for Culture and Tourism released a Commemorative Coin of Rs 150 and a Circulation Coin of Rs 10 on Late Lala Lajpat Rai.

केंद्रीय संस्कृति एवं पर्यटन राज्यमंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) डा. महेश शर्मा ने स्वर्गीय लाला लाजपत राय पर 150 रुपये का एक स्मृति सिक्का और 10 रुपये का इस्तेमाल किया जाने वाला सिक्का जारी किया।

4. India test fired its indigenously-developed surface-to-air Akash missile as part of a user trial from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur. This missile has a strike range of 25 km.

भारत ने चांदीपुर एकीकृत परीक्षण रेंज से यूजर परीक्षण के एक हिस्से के रूप सतह से आकाश में मार करने वाली आकाश मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया। यह मिसाइल 25 किमी. तक मार करने की क्षमता रखती है।

5. Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra was awarded the Diploma of Honour and President’s Button by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) as an acknowledgment to his contribution to the sport.

ओलंपिक चैंपियन अभिनव बिंद्रा को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय निशानेबाजी खेल महासंघ (आईएसएसएफ) द्वारा इस खेल में उनके योगदान के लिये डिप्लोमा आफ ऑनर और प्रेसीडेंट बटन से सम्मानित किया गया है।

6. Devendra Fadnavis and Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore honored the veteran wildlife film maker Shri Naresh Bedi with the V. Shantaram Life Time Achievement Award at the 14th edition of Mumbai International Festival.

देवेंद्र फडणवीस और केंद्रीय सूचना एवं प्रसारण राज्य मंत्री राज्यवर्धन राठौर ने वन्य जीव फिल्म निर्माता नरेश बेदी को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव के 14वें संस्करण के दौरान वी शांताराम लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया।

7. Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis won the Australian Open women’s doubles title. Sania and Hingis defeated Czech combination of Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka in the final match.

भारत की टेनिस स्टार सानिया मिर्जा और स्विट्जरलैंड की मार्टिना हिंगिस की जोड़ी ने आस्ट्रेलियन ओपन का महिला युगल खिताब जीत लिया है। सानिया और हिंगिस ने फाइनल मुकाबले में चेक गणराज्य की आंद्रिया लावाकोवा और लूसी हर्रादेका को हराया।

8. Railway Ministry introduces new checks on booking of e-ticket/i-ticket through IRCTC website with a view to further prevent possible misuse. Under the new provisions a maximum of 6 tickets can be booked online by an individual user in a month on IRCTC website.

रेल मंत्रालय द्वारा संभावित दुरूपयोग रोकने के लिए आईआरसीटीसी वेबसाइट के मार्फत ई-टिकट/आई-टिकट बुकिंग पर नई निगरानी शुरू की गई है। नये प्रावधान के तहत किसी व्य क्तिगत उपयोगकर्ता द्वारा आईआरसीटीसी पर एक महीने में अधिकतम 6 टिकटों की बुकिंग की जा सकती है।

9. Country’s largest power generation company NTPC has appointed Gurdeep Singh as its chairman and managing director. At present Gurdeep is the managing director of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSEC).

देश की सबसे बड़ी बिजली उत्पादक कंपनी एनटीपीसी ने गुरदीप सिंह को कंपनी चेयरमैन और प्रबंध निदेशक नियुक्त किया है। वर्तमान में वह गुजरात राज्य विद्युत निगम के प्रमुख हैं।

10. J. S. Deepak has been appointed the secretary of the Department of Telecommunications. Deepak is currently the secretary of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology.

जे. एस. दीपक को दूरसंचार विभाग के सचिव पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है। वर्तमान में दीपक इलेक्ट्रॉनिक एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग के सचिव हैं।

11. India recorded their first ever bilateral series triumph on Australian soil, as they clinched the Twenty20 rubber by taking an unassailable 2-0 lead with a comprehensive 27-run victory in the second match.The Indians had earlier won a tri-series in 2007-08 and the Benson and Hedges World Championship in 1985.

दूसरे मैच में 27 रनों की भारी जीत के साथ 2-0 की बढ़त लेने के साथ ही भारत ने द्विपक्षीय ट्वेंटी -20 श्रृंखला में ऑस्ट्रेलिया की धरती पर अपनी पहली जीत दर्ज की है। भारत पहले 2007-08 में एक त्रिकोणीय श्रृंखला और 1985 में बेन्सन एंड हेजेज विश्व चैम्पियनशिप जीत चुका है।

12. The Bank of Japan has said that it will charge lenders that leave too much cash on idle deposit with it, introducing a negative interest rate policy for the first time. The central bank said it is imposing a 0.1 percent fee on some new commercial bank deposits with the BOJ, effectively a negative interest rate. It hopes that it will encourage commercial banks to lend more, rather than keeping cash at the BOJ, and stimulate investment and growth in the world’s third—largest economy.

बैंक ऑफ जापान ने सुस्त जमाओं पर अधिक नकदी रखने वाले उधारदाताओं से शुल्क प्रभारित करके पहली बार नकारात्मक ब्याज दर नीति शुरू कर रहा है। केंद्रीय बैंक ने कहा है कि वह बैंक ऑफ जापान के पास जमा कुछ नई वाणिज्यिक बैंक जमाओं पर 0.1 प्रतिशत शुल्क लगायेगा, जो कि प्रभावी रूप से ऋणात्मक ब्याज दर होगी। उसे आशा है कि इससे, बैंक ऑफ जापान में नकदी रखने के बजाय वाणिज्यिक बैंकों को अधिक उधार देने के लिये प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा, जिससे कि विश्व की तीसरी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था में निवेश और विकास को प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा।

13. The Indian women’s cricket team scripted history by clinching its maiden Twenty20 series win over three-time world champion Australia with a comprehensive 10-wicket triumph in the rain-truncated second game, in Melbourne.

भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट टीम ने मेलबर्न में तीन बार के विश्व चैंपियन ऑस्ट्रेलिया पर अपनी पहली ट्वेंटी-20 श्रृंखला जीती है। बारिश के कारण छोटे किये दूसरे मैच में 10 विकेट की भारी जीत से भारतीय टीम ने इतिहास रच दिया।
